Little Bluestem is a native warm-season grass valued for its fine-textured blue-green foliage and beautiful coppery-orange fall color. This species is highly adapted to the summer heat, drought, and humidity, and also performs well in a large range of soils, including clays and nutrient-poor soils. Its slender stems and fluffy seed heads add year-round structure to gardens.
